Matek Systems F405-VTOL Flight Controller
Technical Highlights
Flight Control for VTOL and Fixed-Wing Builds
The F405-VTOL combines an STM32F405RGT6 controller, ICM42688-P gyroscope and SPL06-001 barometer. Use the MatekF405-TE ArduPilot target for VTOL configurations. The MATEKF405TE_SD INAV target is suitable for standard fixed-wing configurations, but INAV does not support VTOL on this board.
Integrated Power Distribution
The built-in PDB accepts 6.8–30 V DC from a 2–6S LiPo battery and provides five ESC power pads with a total continuous rating of 100 A. Separate regulated outputs serve flight electronics, video equipment and servos.
Onboard OSD and Flight Logging
An AT7456E OSD chip supports analog video overlays, while the microSD card slot provides Blackbox storage. For ArduPilot file logging to the card, configure LOG_BACKEND_TYPE to 1.
Interfaces for Aircraft Integration
The board provides six UARTs, one I2C interface, four ADC inputs and twelve PWM-capable outputs. It also has a switchable dual-camera input and a USB Type-C connection through the supplied USB/beeper extender.

Firmware and Installation Notes
Select the firmware target for this exact board: MatekF405-TE for ArduPilot or MATEKF405TE_SD for INAV 5.0 or newer.
Use ArduPilot for VTOL aircraft. INAV does not support VTOL on the F405-VTOL; it can be used for a conventional fixed-wing setup.
For stable 9 V, 12 V or Vx output, battery input must exceed the selected output voltage by more than 1 V.
Do not connect an ESC's onboard BEC output wire to the Vx pad.
For ArduPilot microSD file logging, set LOG_BACKEND_TYPE to 1.

FAQ
Can the F405-VTOL run a VTOL aircraft with INAV?
No. For VTOL configurations, use the MatekF405-TE ArduPilot target. INAV does not support VTOL on this board; its MATEKF405TE_SD target can be used for a conventional fixed-wing configuration.
Which firmware targets match this flight controller?
The ArduPilot target is MatekF405-TE. The INAV target is MATEKF405TE_SD and requires INAV 5.0 or newer.
Does the board support onboard flight logging?
Yes. It has a microSD card slot for Blackbox storage. For ArduPilot file logging to the card, set LOG_BACKEND_TYPE to 1.
Can the Vx output power servos?
Yes. The Vx BEC is intended for servos and supplies 5 V by default, or 6 V or 7.2 V via jumper selection, at 8 A continuous and 10 A peak. Do not connect an ESC onboard BEC output wire to the Vx pad.
What are the board dimensions and mounting options?
The board measures 45 × 42 × 15 mm. It supports 25 × 25 mm mounting with 2 mm holes and 35 × 35 mm mounting with 4 mm holes.
B2B Procurement FAQ
What should be confirmed before ordering this model?
Confirm the exact F405-VTOL model, intended firmware, required battery and servo-rail voltage, current requirements, package configuration and current availability during quotation. The manufacturer's product page is marked EOL.
Are the GPS, ESC, receiver and cameras shown in wiring diagrams included?
The wiring diagrams illustrate connection examples; they do not establish that those peripherals are included. Confirm any requested accessories and the shipped kit contents during quotation.
What does the manufacturer list in the standard package?
The manufacturer documents one F405-VTOL board, a USB Type-C / beeper extender and cable, an I2C cable, a 35 V 470 µF capacitor and unsoldered Dupont pins. Confirm the contents of the specific offered SKU before purchase.
Are MOQ, lead time and warranty terms fixed for this product?
No MOQ, lead time or warranty terms are established by the supplied product material. These terms, along with stock availability, must be confirmed during quotation.
